Betty Sue (Akers) Henson

Betty Sue (Akers) Henson 80, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Piketon Nursing Center in Piketon, Ohio.  Betty was born February 22, 1945, to the late Pink and Cloie {Caudill} Akers of McDowell, Kentucky. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Lee Henson and her siblings: Madis, Talbie, Mildred, Marie, Jack, Jimmie, Dewey, Pink Jr and William (Bobby).

Betty is survived by one sister whom she loved dearly-Brenda (Akers) Hicks. Her two sons, David Lee Henson and wife Janie {Fetherolf} Henson of Grove City, Ohio and Scotty Dale Henson and wife Esther {Spencer} Henson of Waverly, Ohio. Along with three grandchildren Jamey {Robert} Foster, Scotty Henson II of Scotty & Esther and Madison Henson of David & Janie.  Three step grandchildren-Joanna Lathem, Kathleen (Fetherolf} Welsh, and Dalton Fetherolf of David. Three great grandchildren Brendan, Kaylee, and Aubree Foster of Jamey {Robert} Foster. Eight step great grandchildren-Daniel, Jonathan, and Jesse Imler of Joanna Lathem.  Carson, Charlotte, and Conner Welsh of Kathleen {Fetherolf} Welsh and Sabrina, Olivia and Tucker of Dalton Fetherolf.

Betty loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her life revolved around her grandchildren, and they loved the fact that she would do anything they wanted including helping them fish. She also enjoyed cooking and anyone who visited her house could tell you that she would never let you leave without getting a full course meal.  Family would come from several different states for her biscuits and gravy and homemade strawberry jam.  She also loved to sew and made too many quilts to count. 

She was truly loved by all her family and friends, and she will be sorely missed, but we are sure Heaven’s celebration will be never ending.

The Burial Service will be held at Beaver Union Cemetery on Friday January 16, 2026 at 12pm (noon) for the immediate family.
