Phyllis Jean (Rayborn) Parsons

Phyllis Jean Parsons, age 84, of Thornville, Ohio, died Monday April 1, 2024 at the Altercare of Thornville Care Facility. She was born August 16, 1939 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Thomas Rayborn and Edith Evans Rayborn. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. West Sr., as well as her husband Larry Parsons. Surviving are three children, Wendy (Sandra) West of South Carolina, Christopher (Beth) West of Newark, Ohio, and Joseph (Cynthia) West of Thornville, Ohio, eight grandchildren, Carrie West of South Carolina, Alicia West of Thornville, Ohio, Kenna (Orrin) Kunkler of Junction City, Ohio, Steven (Valaura) West of Somerset, Ohio, Hannah West of Newark, Ohio, Olivia West of Newark, Ohio, Georgia West of Thornville, Ohio, and Erin West of Thornville, Ohio, and ten great-grandchildren, Dakota, Tylen, Rilyn, Laken, Briar, Hunter, Bentley, Colt, Gunner, and Kain. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. West Jr.

Phyllis was employed as a Northern Local School bus driver for a number of years and went on to work as a Sales Associate in the jewelry department at Walmart. She enjoyed spending time going on Disney vacations, but her deepest joy in her life was her family and her pet dogs.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Altercare of Thornville for the wonderful care and support they provided.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday April 5, 2024 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Dan Meek officiating. Visiting time will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
