Karen “Sue” Cochenour, age 82, of Waverly, Ohio, died Wednesday March 27, 2024, while surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born February 27, 1942 in Beaver, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ezra Bobst and Gladys Schrader Bobst. She was united in marriage November 19, 1960 to her husband, Richard Cochenour, who preceded her in death November 27, 2009. Surviving are three children, Cindy (Rick) Farmer, Mark (Julie) Cochenour, and Marty (Tiffany) Cochenour, six grandchildren, Nick Farmer, Eric (Whitney) Farmer, Hunter Cochenour, Abby Cochenour, Addison Cochenour, and Gavin Cochenour, two great-grandchildren, Olivia Farmer and Baron Farmer, three brothers, Jack Bobst, Jerry Bobst, Dean Bobst, and one sister, Patsy McGuire. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ezra “Bub” Bobst and Robert Bobst, four sisters, Vonberta Smith, Barb Predragovich, Betty Remy, and Janis Hines, her best friend, Shirley Cochenour, and her beloved pet, Stimpy.
Sue worked at Eastern High School for 31 years as a cook. She was involved in the Beaver Civic Club and a member of the Beaver Methodist Church for many years. She loved spending precious time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Monday April 1, 2024 at the Cox Burkitt Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
